Thrifted Homeware Haul

As someone who goes charity shopping quite often, I have to say thrifting homeware hasn’t been a strong point for me and I usually find it a struggle to find things I like. However, with some patience, I recently had some excellent luck.

My gorgeous haul! These are all things I could buy new but there is something special about finding second hand. When I came out of the shop, arms full, I couldn’t believe that I had actually found so many desirable items, some that I had been pining after for some time.

As I was looking through the furniture section this beautiful frame caught my eye and I was immediately drawn to it. I love the print, it feels very pretty but a little spooky to me (I like that though!). It has been cleaned up and I’ve hung it in the bedroom, though I think it will end up being moved.

I cannot tell you how happy I was to find this jar. I have pinned so many like it on my pinterest and I really never thought I’d find one like it without going online or having to buy new. It was such a bargain too! It’s well made, perfectly chunky for my wooden spoons, and I know that I will treasure it for years to come.

I always have a look at frames when I’m charity shopping as I have a lot of photos I eventually want to put up (and hopefully art work too!). I have been looking for a frame like this for so long as I have a particular photo of my baby I wanted to display. Again, I have almost bought new so many times as I just couldn’t find a pretty small frame while thrifting, but now I am so glad I waited as this one is just what I wanted! It does actually have a photo of my baby, but I don’t want that on the internet so replaced it with one of our wedding photos for this post!

For the last few years I’ve found some lovely brass / brass imitation pieces but not a candlestick like this. Such a good find, just perfect for cosy nights in when it gets a little colder.

I’m not sure if books count as ‘homeware’, but since I bought them at the same time I thought I might as well post them! I do enjoy an old book. Each of these paperbacks appealed to me for different reasons, my reading can be eclectic and I tend to go with what writing style appeals to me rather than genre.

Have you ever had an exceptionally lucky time charity shopping?
