Our New Home

This month marks a whole year since we’ve moved into our new house. We have seen each season come and go with it’s own challenges. We have so many things we want to update and change but I also want us to take our time and grow into the house too. We have a toddler and a cat and I know if we make any big, expensive changes, they will quickly be lived in (and potentially destroyed!).

We have made some big changes. We had the back boiler system removed and replaced, we’ve had some roof work done and this month we’ve had our electrics replaced. I’ve also been working at making the garden a little more presentable, and in the process I’ve absolutely fallen in love with gardening. We have a front and back garden that both need more work but I have truly loved bringing in my own choice of flowers and making those spaces my own.

We are now at the point that I’m starting to make more definite plans on how I want to decorate and live in the space. It sometimes feels like I’m living in some else’s home and I’m ready to start making it feel more ‘us’. Just in our own time!

Having outgrown our one bedroom flat and for a long time genuinely not knowing when we’d ever be able to move, I feel so lucky that we live here, in our dream home.
